She and her son manage to infiltrate his birthday plans, cancel the party, and lock the arriving guests in the basement. Then, she reveals to Dick that she knows he is an alien - and wants to dissect him. Kathy Bates' appearance in this episode parodied her role in the film Misery when Dick refers to her as his "number one fan."
